Senior Rails Developer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and implement complex software solutions

  • Apply Agile methodology processes to work with the team

  • Perform code reviews, and help improve coding standards

  • Optimize code and databases

  • Participate in new product & feature brainstorm sessions.

  • Guide junior developers in their work

  • Ensure reliability, scalability and security of our applications

  • Test Driven Development (Cucumber, Rspec)

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Design, architect, and implement complex solutions

  • Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and excellent track record of success, entrepreneurial drive

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills

  • Fast learner

Required Technical Experience

Experience with a wide range of platforms and technologies, including:

  • Ruby on Rails

  • HTML, XML, CSS

  • RESTful services

  • MySQL, or PostgreSQL

  • Should have strong knowledge of one other language: Java, .NET, C++, Objective C

  • Planning and hands on experience managing the deployment of applications (performance tuning, databases, caching, security)

  • Agile Development Methodology

  • User Story driven development


Nice to Have Experience

  • Mobile phone application development

  • Objective C, Java/J2ME, BlackBerry API, Appcelerator framework a plus.

Web Developer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop components for web and mobile solutions.

  • Participate in new product & feature brainstorm sessions.

  • Troubleshooting, bug fixes and misc. operational duties.

  • Test Driven Development (Cucumber, Rspec).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Database development and querying

  • Server side development

  • Front end development

  • Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and excellent track record of success, entrepreneurial drive

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Fast learner

Technical Experience

Experience with a wide range of platforms and technologies, including:

  • Ruby on Rails

  • PHP

  • Javascript

  • RESTful services
